Learning from lesson study 2

Learning from Lesson Study

December 4th 2024 16:00 – 17:30 (GMT/UCT)

FREE online webinar focussed on analysing a research lesson from a Collaborative Lesson Research cycle.

The Devon (DES) maths team and Jurassic maths hub team work closely together with the Collaborative Lesson Research (CLR) UK charity, exploring the use of Japanese style lesson study as professional development. This webinar will provide an opportunity for teachers and leaders to explore a collaborative lesson research cycle, based on a new video-recorded mixed-age research lesson in Y5/6 focussed on equivalent fractions. The video, its accompanying lesson proposal, the mathematical task for the lesson, and children’s solutions will be available online for viewing and examination before the webinar. As well as commentary from UK educators, including Mike Askew, Janine Blinko, Andy Tynemouth and Ruth Trundley,  there will be opportunities for comments and questions from participants.

There will be an optional follow up open discussion session online on December 11th 16:00 – 17:00.
